A quick reminder that applications will be closing this Friday 1 August 2025 for McNab’s 2025 Building Pathways Program for Year 11 and Year 12 students.

About the program

Join us during the 2025 September school holidays for an intensive one week work experience placement (see dates below).

It’s a great chance for students to get their foot in the door and kick start a career with one of Australia’s leading construction, development and property businesses.

Please help spread the word and encourage students at Foxwell State Secondary College to apply. Feel free to share this Building Pathways Work Experience email with students in Year 11 and Year 12. 

Program structure

One week. Three paths. Lots of fun!

University Path

Like Lachie, it’s perfect for students considering studying Construction Management, Property Management, Architecture or Quantity Surveying at university next year. They will learn about McNab’s Cadet program and be able to express their interest for our 2026 intake.

Trade Path

Like Jess, it’s perfect for students who are wanting to pursue a Carpentry, Waterproofing, Plastering trade. They will be able to try out for one of McNab’s highly sought after apprenticeships and gain hands on experience working within a large construction company.

Trainee Path

Like Mel, who is an IT Support Trainee, our NEW Trainee Path is perfect for students who are wanting to pursue a traineeship across IT Support, Warehousing & Distribution, Workplace Health & Safety and Rigging.

2025 work experience dates
Students can take part in a one week placement during the 2025 September school holidays:

• Week 1: 22–26 September OR
• Week 2: 29 September – 3 October

Selection criteria

Students must submit a Resume/CV as well as meeting the following criteria:

• Be in Year 11 or 12 and available for work experience in September 2025 school holidays
• Working towards achieving P1 license (driver’s license preferred but not essential)
• Hold a White Card
• Have had previous, relevant work experience (Trade Path Only)
• Hold a Certificate I in Construction (Trade Path – ideal but not essential)
